For as long as I can remember, food has been the center of attention in my family. (I’m Italian, what can I say?) As a child, I remember sitting in the kitchen watching my mom and my great-grandmother cook. It took me a lot longer than it should have for me to plunge into the kitchen and try my hand at cooking. But since getting married and buying a house of my (well, our) own, my whole outlook on cooking has changed.

So…now it’s my turn. It’s my turn to recreate my families classic dishes and to come up with a few of my own. This blog is my way of keeping track of all the great, and not so great, meals that come out of our kitchen. It’s also as a memoir for myself and my family, and hopefully a good read for all the other great foodies out there!

So, here I am, a 20-something Italian living in desolate Rio Rancho, N.M. starting my very own food blog. I’ll share recipes, restaurant “reviews” (quotes because I’m not sure that I can call myself a reviewer) and stories of myself, my family and the journey’s we share through cooking.

Disclaimer: I am in no way a professional (cook or photographer). I have no culinary training, but I’d like to think that all the years of observing my family and experimenting in the kitchen count as some experience. All content on this blog is original, unless otherwise stated, and all photographs are taken by me (minutes before we devour the food on the plate).
